Reminder: Donate Unwanted Crayons to Help Children in Hospitals
Area residents are reminded that Little Dixie Regional Libraries and the Daughters of the American Revolution are continuing to collect unwanted crayons for The Crayon Initiative, a program that recycles crayons and provides them to children in hospitals.
Community members are encouraged to check drawers, closets, classrooms and craft supplies for crayons that are no longer being used. Crayons of any size or condition -- big or small, broken or whole -- can be donated.
Through The Crayon Initiative, donated crayons are recycled, helping reduce landfill waste while bringing color, creativity and comfort to children facing challenging health situations. Coloring can provide children with an outlet for imagination and self-expression while helping brighten their time in the hospital.
Donations can be dropped off at Little Dixie Regional Library locations in Huntsville, Madison, Paris and Moberly.
The community is encouraged to take a few minutes to gather those forgotten crayons and put them to good use.
Reduce waste and spread happiness -- one crayon at a time!
