The Paris Coyote Football team had a successful 2025 football season. The Coyotes finished with a 6-3 regular season record and earned a #3 seed in district playoffs. In doing so the Coyotes earned a first round bye before facing off against conference rival and nemesis North Shelby this Friday night. "Those guys are talented and have been a thorn in our side for a couple of seasons now. We have played them in some tight games and always feel like we have competed well, but mistakes have hurt us in our games against them. We are going to have to focus in and compete every play and play mistake free football. If we do that I feel that we can compete with anyone." Coach Cody Carney
The Coyotes are in the semi-finals of districts and are joined by a couple of the State's best 8-man squads in North Shelby and Knox County. Paris lost hard fought games against both teams in back to back games earlier this season and are hoping with the return of a few injured players to enact a little revenge against their conference and district foes.
The Coyotes had some impressive regular season performers that were among the 8-man state leaders in multiple categories. Senior Quarterback Luke Ensor put together another stellar season as the Coyote signal caller. Ensor finished 6th in the State with 1,538 yards passing, 4th in touchdown passes with 30, 15th in total yards with 1,683, and tied for 13th with 33 total touchdowns. Junior receiver Logan Mitchell is 12th in the State with 549 yards, tied for 12th with 10 touchdowns, and tied for 14th with 31 receptions. Mitchell is also tied for 12th with 4 interceptions. Senior Chase Kendrick is 50th in the State with 262 receiving yards, tied for 33rd with 5 touchdowns, and tied for 5th with 5 interceptions. Senior receiver Payden Crain is tied for 34th with 22 receptions.
The Coyotes face a tough task ahead of them, but as they have proven game in and out all season will put a good, hard-nosed football team on the field and will compete with anyone. To catch the Coyotes in District action, head to North Shelby on Friday night at 7:00.
Good Luck Coyotes and congratulations on a great regular season!
