The Miss Paris Pageant has been a tradition since 1935. In the early years, 1935-1942, Miss Paris was sponsored by the Paris Progressive Club. The pageant was stopped in 1943-1944 due to World War II. In 1945-1956, the Paris Progressive Club resumed the pageant as the Beauty Queen of Monroe County. From 1966-1999 the Paris Jacee-ettes and other area sorority groups sponsored "Miss Paris" once again. The Alpha Phi chapter of Beta Sigma Phi began sponsoring Miss Paris in 2000 and continues to offer this unique opportunity to our local young ladies today.
Alpha Phi, a chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, is a sorority built on friendship. We enjoy time with our friends, support our local community, and work for the betterment of everyone we meet. Sponsoring Miss Paris gives young ladies the opportunity to build poise and confidence as well as create new friendships.
