Here is a way to deliver on a holiday wish of "good health"

November 06, 2024

It's common for people during the holiday season to wish others
"good health." The Blessing Foundation offers you a way to deliver
on that wish with the Blessing Health System Honor Card.
The purchaser of an Honor Card donates an amount of their choosing to
any Blessing healthcare service of their choosing, in the name of a
loved one or friend. The honoree receives a card in the mail telling
them of the donation made in their honor, and the money donated goes to
support someone in need who is receiving care from the designated
service.
The Blessing Foundation manages the Honor Card program. The Foundation
raises, manages and disperses charitable donations on behalf of Blessing
healthcare services to assist patients who have medical needs but face
financial challenges.
Ann Awerkamp Dickson, administrative director, Blessing Foundation, says
an Honor Card donation can changes lives.
"Donations recently helped a couple raising two children with autism
-- and facing a breast cancer diagnosis -- manage their finances which
took a hit when the woman had to be off of work for treatment,"
Dickson said. "Blessing Foundation donor support of the Cancer Center
fund covered five of the family's house payments, giving them some
much needed financial relief during this difficult time."
"An Honor Card, in the name of a close friend or relative sent on
behalf of the Cancer Center fund, could assist people - just like this
family -- who may be struggling financially during treatment," she
continued.
"The Honor Card ends up gifting two people at the same time -- the
honoree and the recipient. An exceptional value for an exceptional
cause, improving the health of our communities," she concluded.
