Billy Ray Ebers

Billy Ray Ebers, 69, of New London, Missouri, passed away at 3:03 PM Saturday, June 13, 2020.

Private Services will be at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO. Father Mike Quinn will officiate.

Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.

Billy was born September 26, 1950, in Hannibal, MO to Leo George Ebers and Emma Irene Howes Ebers.

He was married to Helen Broemmer on March 11, 1977 in Hannibal, MO. She survives.

Other survivors include 2 children, Kerri Zumwalt (Doug) of New London, MO, and Brian Ebers of Monroe City, MO,3 sisters, Mary Meier, Lori Pendzinski (Freddie) and Sue Locke (John), and 2 brothers, Allen Ebers (Sheila) and Danny Ebers (Belinda). Billy is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Camille, Kiara, Evan and Emma Zumwalt and Brielle Ebers and his nieces, nephews and a close friend who was like a brother to him Martin "Marty" Hunter. Other survivors include Billy's REC Family, who he loved very much.

Billy was a United States Army Veteran, where he was stationed for over 2 years in Germany.

Professionally Billy was a lineman. He retired after working for over 33 years for the Ralls County Electric COOP.

Billy loved riding motorcycles and he was always up for a road trip. Spending time with his grandchildren going to the pool or having a wiener roast were always cherished moments. Working in the garage with his son Brian and visits with his daughter Kerri were also favorite times for Billy. Tootsie Rolls, Diet Dr. Pepper and visits to his favorite Mexican restaurant were a few of Billy's most enjoyed times.

While stubborn at times, Billy was always loving and not afraid to speak his mind. Fun loving and spirited, Billy loved to tease. He cherished most however the moments he was able to share with his family and friends.

Billy was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Lone Wolf for their annual motorcycle ride for "Toys For Tots" program.
