Mark Twain High School Principal Suspended

October 18, 2023

Update! Board reinstated Mr Windsor during Thursday nights board meeting.

This morning, I was notified of the suspension of the Mark Twain High School Principal, Deacon Windsor.

There was a car accident after school involving a Mark Twain High Schooler. Mr. Windsor responded to the accident to be there for her as a familiar face. SRO Deputy Walotka, the school resource officer, did not go to the accident and disagreed with Mr. Windsor's response.

Today, October 18, the teachers, staff, and students who are in support of Mr. Windsor being reinstated, wore black today for a blackout! Tomorrow, October 19, the students are planning a walkout at 11:55 a.m. in support of his reinstation. Whether or not there will be disciplinary actions for those students walking out is undetermined at this time.

There will be a special school board meeting at 5 p.m. tomorrow, October 19 in a CLOSED session. They have 72 hours to inform the public of a decision.

More accurate information will be in next week's paper. I've heard many different versions and I've reached out to the superintendent and Ralls County Sheriff's Department. As we learn more, we will share.
