Dear Editor/Parents

Dear Editor/Parents:

Our seniors and 8th-graders are finishing this step in their education during a very unsettled time, with opportunities to reschedule missed events uncertain. One event that some of you may not even have known about is a community baccalaureate service. This is a brief worship service intended to allow your family, church, community, and friends to honor the graduates and 8th-graders and pray for God’s blessings on their present and their futures. That has never been more important than now. Baccalaureate has long been a service of the Paris Ministerial Alliance and more recently also of other local churches and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. It is our privilege to invite you and your child to this service on Sunday, May 10 (Mother’s Day), tentatively at 7 P.M.

With the near future in constant change, the actual details are flexible at this time. I pray that by then we will be able to meet face to face. If, however, that is not possible, we will meet online. If you will email me your contact information--how you would prefer to be notified--I will do my best to keep you informed. My address is You can also text me at 660-998-1602 or find me on Facebook Messenger.

(AT THIS POINT, THERE IS NO REASONABLE WAY TO HAVE A FACE-TO-FACE MEETING. WE WILL BE DOING A FACEBOOK LIVE SERVICE AT 7 P.M. ON SUNDAY EVENING, MAY 10th.) You may find our Livestream event on Facebook. Just type First Baptist Church of Paris into the search bar. Another way to find the event easily would be to navigate to our page, "Like" our page and it should pop up in your feed when the Livestream begins. We should be streaming approximately 5 minutes prior to the event actually beginning. It will be posted on Youtube (FBC Paris, MO) at a later time.

Right now we cannot change the circumstances that our students face. However, I hope that this will help them realize that we are in their corner even while people around us and throughout the state, nation, and world face the dangers and challenges of this health emergency.

Please put baccalaureate on your calendar. Invite your friends and your families. I am hoping to see you there.

In prayer,

Brenda Ensor Paris Fellowship of Christian Athletes
