Supervisor Election to be held February 2022

The Ralls County Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors election will be February 1, 2022 through February 22, 2022. Ballots may be found on the Ralls SWCD website, https://mosoilandwater.land/ralls you can print ballot, vote for one in each area if you would like and mail it to or drop it by the Ralls County SWCD/NRCS Office. 17623 Hwy 19 Ste. 3 New London, MO 63459, or you may also come to the office and vote at the above address.
Anyone owning land in Ralls County, with a Farm Service Agency (FSA) Farm Number or that is assessed as agricultural is eligible to vote. Each landowner gets one vote and corporations get one vote. The Supervisors from areas II and IV are up for Election.

Area II includes Saverton, Spencer, and east part of Clay Townships. Area IV includes the Salt River Township and the west half of Jasper Township.

Candidates are:
Jody Ketsenburg is a candidate of Area II for a position on the Ralls County Soil and Water Conservation District board of Supervisors.

Jody and Lisa reside on a row crop farm in the New London area. They are parents of two sons, Joshua and Caleb. Jody began farming in 1988 after high school and received a degree in Agriculture Business at the University of Central Missouri. He returned to Ralls County in 2007 and continued farming. Jody is now implementing reduced and vertical tillage to maintain soil conservation. He raises corn and soybeans and is the manager of Ketsenburg farms.

Lisa is a elementary teacher in the Hannibal Public School System.

Jody has served on the Ralls County Extension Council, Ralls County Library Board and the Ralls County SWCD Board and is a graduate of the Illinois Agriculture Leadership Program.

Jody stated that he is interested in the conservation of our counties farms and how each producer can contribute to saving soil by implementing common sense conservation practices. Additionally, I am interested in soil health and the next phases of carbon management beyond cover crops.

Jonathan Chipman is running for the Area IV Supervisor position. Jonathan and his wife Andi reside on a row crop and cattle farm. They are the parents of Caleb age 12 and Katie age 10. After graduating from University of Missouri in 2000 he returned to the family farm where they raise corn, soybeans and wheat. He also raises beef cattle and recently added a small herd of meat goats. His wife Andi is a Math teacher at the Mark Twain High School in Ralls County.

Jonathon and his family are active members of the Mark Twain 4-H Club and he is a member of the Mark Twain Young Farmers.

As a lifetime Ralls County resident and farmer, Chipman wants to participate in the SWCD to help his children and their children continue the best farming practices to continue the family traditions. He also wants to share information and opportunities with my neighbors.

Chad Evans is a candidate of Area IV for a position on the Ralls County Soil and Water Conservation District board of supervisors.

Chad and his wife reside on a row crop farm. They are the parents of a son Reid age 4. Chad row crops and helps with the family livestock operation. Chad applies soil health in terms of No Till, and cover crops as well. Chad is a fifth generation farmer in the Perry area. His wife Brooke works as a Secretary for Nutrien AG Solutions in Perry, MO. Chad stated he has always been interested in soil conservation. He has worked building terraces and waterways to help conserve the soil.

Greg Eisele is running for the Area IV Supervisor position. Greg and wife Amiee reside on a row crop farm in the Perry Missouri area. They are the parents of a daughter Ashlyn 19 and a son Colten 16. Ashlyn attends University of Missouri, Columbia. Greg has farmed for 29 years raising corn and soybeans. Greg is a Farm Bureau member, member of the Mark Twain Young Farmers, MFA Delegate, President of the Perry Rural Fire Association and attends the Center Baptist Church.

Greg is interested in saving the soil through different types of conservation practices.
