Ralls County 4-H Recognition Event

Ralls County 4-H Recognition Night is an event held to honor the members and volunteer leaders in the 4-H program as well as recognize the outstanding accomplishments of the 4-H members during this past year. This year we were unable to hold a County wide in-person event due to group size restrictions for Extension programming. Club Leaders presented the awards at their local club meetings.

Outstanding Member Award winners were selected on accomplishments, projects taken, leadership involvement, and other activities a member is involved in. The winners were: Outstanding 13 & Under Girl, Makayla McCurdy and Outstanding 14 & Over Boy, Thomas Barnes.

The Friend of 4-H Award is presented to individuals, businesses, or organizations who have given an extra effort to help the county 4-H program. This year’s recipient was Dan Peters, Center Baptist Church.

Pins were presented to volunteer leaders who had volunteered at the local and/or county level. Receiving a fifty-year pin was Ann Wideman, a thirty-five-year pin went to Debbie Hodges, a fifteen-year pin was awarded to Sarah Evans, and five-year pins were received by Amy Ingram, Jan Calvin, Annie Wallace, Nicole Birkhead, Deanna Terry, Suzette Hudelson and Jennifer Torrence.

First year volunteer leaders were also recognized and presented pins. They were Laura Gibbons, Ellen Britt, Nancy Caswell, Joe Dameron, Michael Reading and Crystalyn Selsor.

Outstanding Award Report Form winner in the level one was Garrett Hopke, for level two was Makayla McCurdy and in level three was Devyn Keller.

Individuals receiving county medals for project records were: Makayla McCurdy, Clara Wallace, Khloe Wallace, Grace Smith, Garrett Hopke, Gretchen Schoene, Garrett Schoene, Cole Baxter, Evan Torrence, Alexis Baxter, Dallas Baxter, Kaleb Ingram, Kyla Ingram, Cierra VanSickle, Tatem McMillen, Alyssa Fountain; Emma Fountain; Owen Fountain; Gage Fountain; Samantha Barnes; Thomas Barnes; Brooklyn Birkhead, Devyn Keller, Hannah Mallory, Marin Mallory, Mylee Keller, Slade Keller, Chloe Duncan, Maggie Gibbons, and Anah Gibbons.

Fashion Revue discs were presented to Krayleigh Power and Emily Branham for winning their division at the county fashion revue contest. Krayleigh Power also competed in the State Fashion Revue and placed 1st in Constructed Dressy, Senior Division.

Ralls County 4-H members who participated in the State Shoot were recognized. They were: Kyla Ingram, Kaleb Ingram, Devyn Keller, Garrett Hopke, Mylee Keller and Slade Keller.

Maggie Gibbons was recognized for receiving Best of Show at the State 4-H Building during the Missouri State Fair.

Outstanding Scrapbook was awarded to Brooklyn Birkhead and Marin Mallory of Liberty Wide Awake. Center Wise Guys, Brice Happy Hustlers and Rocky Point were recognized for submitting their club’s scrapbook. Receiving the Outstanding Secretary Book was Makayla McCurdy Brice Happy Hustlers. Outstanding Treasurer’s Book was presented to Clara Wallace of Brice Happy Hustlers.

Junior Leaders are 4-H members who assist a project leader or activity leader in their club. Those recognized were: Elizabeth Northcutt, Thomas Barnes, Samantha Barnes, Devyn Keller, Hannah Mallory, Brooklyn Birkhead, Marin Mallory, Sam Northcutt and Rachel Hodges.
The County Teen Council recognized its members for completing the year. They were: Marin Mallory, Samantha Barnes, Brooklyn Birkhead, Rachel Hodges, Hannah Mallory, Devyn Keller, Thomas Barnes, Carmen Wilburn, Halynna Yager, Samuel Northcutt, Clara Wallace and Elizabeth Northcutt.

Halynna Yager, Garrett Schoene, Reagan Shultz and Haley Branham were recognized for being a graduate of the 4-H program.

The 2020 Ralls County Junior Fair Royalty were recognized. They were Elizabeth Northcutt, Makayla McCurdy and Austin Hodges.
