Mark Twain Lake Day Use Fee Collection Changes Due to COVID-19

October 27, 2020

Mark Twain Lake, October 27, 2020 – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) at Mark Twain Lake is announcing changes to day use fee collection methods due to COVID-19 concerns. Mark Twain Lake will implement changes to fee collection methods to protect the health, safety and security of the public and USACE employees.

Per the Headquarter USACE office, day use fee collections resumed Oct 1 after a 7-month waiver, however, per St. Louis District USACE guidelines, cash collections will be suspended beginning Oct 31 and resume in April 2021. In the interim you may purchase your annual day use pass using a credit/debit card by calling the Mark Twain Lake Project Office at 573-735-4097. The annual day use pass covers fees for boat launching, using the beaches and for the David C. Berti Shooting Range. Honor vaults will be removed from recreation areas beginning November 1 and plans are underway to add automated fee collection stations in the spring.

Other fees that will be collected, by using a credit or debit card only, include firewood permits and special use permits for open to the public fishing tournaments. Firewood cutting permit information will be announced at a later date.
