To honor and recognize the efforts of Rep. Jim Hansen, R-Frankford, for his work this year on Economic Development, Speaker of the Missouri House of Representatives Tim Jones, awarded him the Freshman Legislator of the Year Award.
“I firmly believe actions speak louder than words and as an elected official, those actions are crucial to the well-being of our constituents. I commend Rep. Hansen on his actions regarding Economic Development issues, showing firsthand that their actions demonstrate leadership for the people of his district,” said Speaker Jones.
Through his role as a member of the House Committee on Economic Development Rep. Hansen helped promote legislation that would ensure all taxpayer money is being spent efficiently and effectively. Cutting back on tax credits and promoting rural economic development were two key priorities of Hansen.
“I learned a lot and we were able to accomplish a lot,” said Rep. Hansen; and “I look forward to next year’s legislative session in January 2014 where I will continue the fight for rural Missouri.”
